Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS), through Thursina Medical Clinic (TMC), has strengthened its internal healthcare system by establishing a strategic partnership with RS Lavalette Malang. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at Harvard Building on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
The agreement was signed by Chief of Waqf Endowment Fund & Enterprise at Thursina IIBS, Ustaz Rahadika, S.Pd., Gr., M.M., representing the management of Thursina IIBS, and Director of RS Lavalette Malang, drg. Indra Gunawan, M.Kes., QHIA.
The event began with remarks from both parties, followed by the MoU signing, a presentation on RS Lavalette’s medical services, and an explanation of the benefits of the partnership for Thursina IIBS. The collaboration is designed to strengthen comprehensive, responsive, and integrated healthcare services for students, teachers, and all members of the Thursina community.
Ustaz Rahadika emphasised that establishing a partnership with a referral hospital is an important part of Thursina’s effort to build a more responsive and sustainable healthcare ecosystem.
“This partnership is aimed at ensuring that every student, teacher, and member of the Thursina community has access to fast, comprehensive, and high-quality healthcare. We also want to develop a more effective referral system, particularly for conditions that require further treatment or emergency care,” said Rahadika.
He added that strengthening healthcare services goes beyond curative treatment. Thursina also encourages collaboration in health education and preventive health promotion so that a stronger culture of healthy living can grow within the boarding school community.
Director of RS Lavalette Malang, drg. Indra Gunawan, M.Kes., QHIA, welcomed the partnership as an opportunity to build greater continuity of healthcare between a medical facility and an educational institution.
“This partnership is expected to provide easier access to medical facilities, speed up the referral process, and ensure that healthcare is delivered appropriately and in a well-coordinated manner. We also see strong potential to develop health education programs together,” said Indra.
Through this collaboration, TMC is expected to strengthen its referral network, including access to modern medical facilities and more efficient treatment for both routine and emergency needs. The partnership also creates clearer coordination when a case requires further examination, treatment, or hospital observation.
The partnership also reflects the Care value within Thursina IIBS’s RECODING Values, expressed through protection, support, and attention to the healthcare needs of the entire Thursina community.
The Care value is not limited to responding when illness occurs. It is also reflected through preventive efforts, health education, and the development of a healthcare system that can provide a lasting sense of safety and well-being.
