Thursina IIBS Opens Wider Pathways to Singapore

Choosing a university abroad often begins long before students fill out their application forms. Through the Mini Singapore Education Fair 2026, Thursina IIBS students had the opportunity to learn directly about preparing for higher education in Singapore, from exploring university options to understanding the requirements and challenges involved.

The event was held at TICH, Male Campus, on Monday, September 14, 2026, and attended by male students from Grades 10, 11, and 12, as well as Grade 12 female students from the Overseas Study (LN) program.

The session featured Andrew Low, Head of the Undergraduate International Programme at Singapore Management University (SMU); Izabelle Law, Senior Executive at SMU; and Eunice Foo, Senior Manager at Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD).

During the session, students received information about admission processes, application preparation, and higher education opportunities in Singapore. Meeting directly with university representatives gave them a clearer understanding of their options before making important decisions about their future studies.

The Chief of Thursina International Office (TIO), Ustaz Qoirul Mansur Darojad, M.Pd., explained that events like this are important because university choices should be based on reliable information, not simply personal dreams. Students are encouraged to understand the academic standards they need to achieve while still in secondary school.

“We want our students to have the courage to set high goals, but those goals must be supported by proper preparation. When they understand the standards of their target universities early, they have more time to develop their abilities and prepare for their academic journey in a more focused way,” said Ustaz Irul.

Singapore Management University (SMU) is known for its interactive learning approach, interdisciplinary education, and leadership development. Meanwhile, Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) focuses on technology and design education, combining engineering, design, and innovation to solve real-world problems.

For Thursina IIBS, introducing students to different types of universities is an important part of broadening their perspectives. This approach reflects the Open-Minded value within Thursina’s RECODING values, encouraging students to explore new perspectives, compare opportunities, and understand education from different points of view.

This initiative also supports Thursina IIBS’s commitment to Holistic and Balanced Education and maintaining World Class Standards. Preparing for overseas education is not seen as something that begins only before graduation. Instead, it is a continuous journey that starts when students begin discovering their interests, abilities, and future goals.

Experiences like this also strengthen Thursina’s Overseas University Enrollment Pathway, an important part of the school’s academic guidance program. Through early access to university information and continuous preparation, students are encouraged to develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to pursue higher education at international universities, including those ranked among the Top 100 universities worldwide.

Ultimately, the Mini Singapore Education Fair 2026 provided students with a valuable opportunity to understand that achieving global dreams requires more than ambition. It takes the courage to set meaningful goals, the dedication to prepare consistently, and the willingness to understand the journey before taking the first step. (izz)
