The first official meeting was held in the Sorbonne Meeting Room on Monday, July 27, 2026, as part of the initial discussions to establish a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The proposed partnership is expected to create broader opportunities for Thursina graduates to pursue higher education at one of Japan's leading universities.

The meeting featured productive discussions focused on expanding pathways to global higher education. Key topics included international student admission routes, an introduction to Ritsumeikan University's faculties and academic programs, academic preparation for studying in Japan, and scholarship opportunities available to Thursina IIBS graduates.
During the session, Ritsumeikan University also introduced several scholarship schemes, including entrance scholarships covering 20% of tuition fees and competitive scholarships ranging from 50% to 100% for outstanding students with strong academic achievements and leadership potential. The two institutions also discussed the possibility of providing institutional recommendations for the prestigious MEXT (Monbukagakusho) Scholarship, funded by the Government of Japan.
Ustaz Mohamat Taufik, M.Ed., Chief of Secretarial Affairs and Partnership at Thursina IIBS, emphasized that this initiative reflects the school's long-term commitment to expanding global educational opportunities for its students.
"Our partnership with Ritsumeikan University marks an important step in providing greater access to world-class higher education for Thursina graduates. Beyond creating pathways to an internationally recognized university, this collaboration will also open doors to scholarship opportunities, strengthen students' academic readiness, and provide valuable international exposure that will equip them to thrive in an increasingly globalized world," he said.
In addition to higher education opportunities, both institutions discussed plans for overseas visits, guest lectures, academic information exchange, and the development of a formal MoU as the foundation for future collaborative programs.
Through this partnership, Thursina IIBS aims to establish a sustainable institutional relationship with Ritsumeikan University while providing students with more internationally enriching academic experiences.
This partnership initiative also reflects the implementation of Thursina's RECODING Value, particularly Open-Minded, which encourages the entire academic community to embrace collaboration, innovation, and cross-cultural exchange in fostering a Holistic & Balanced education. (izz)
