Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) successfully conducted its 2026/2027 Human Resource Development Program from July 6–11, 2026, reaffirming the school's commitment to strengthening leadership, organizational governance, and its culture of Commitment to Excellence (CoE).
The program commenced with the Inauguration of Structural Leaders for the 2026/2027 Academic Year, held at Harvard Hall on Monday, July 6, 2026. The ceremony marked the appointment of key leaders entrusted with new responsibilities while reinforcing the school's organizational structure through several strategic appointments. Among them were Ustaz M. Zainul Arifin, S.Pd., as Principal of the Academic Female Campus, Ustaz Rois Haqiqi, M.Pd., Gr., as Principal of the Academic Male Campus, and Ustaz A. Ali Syihabuddin, S.Si., M.Pd., Gr., as Chief of Management Information Technology (MIT).
The organizational transformation continued with the Institutional Orientation on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, led by the Chairman, CEO, and Senior Advisor of Thursina IIBS. The session served as a strategic forum to align the institution's vision, policy direction, and development priorities, ensuring that all leaders shared a unified perspective on advancing educational quality, organizational excellence, and future-oriented leadership.
In his keynote address, CEO of Thursina IIBS, Ustaz Nur Abidin, Ed.D., emphasized that meaningful organizational transformation begins with the quality of individual leadership.
"Organizational transformation can only succeed when it is driven by the transformation of each leader. There are three principles that every leader at Thursina should uphold. First, Not the Gun, but the Man Behind the Gun. Success is determined not by facilities or positions, but by the people who make the most of them."
"Second, You Are the Changemaker. Every leader must become an agent of change who brings innovation and solutions. Third, the Holistic Leadership Approach. Leadership should cultivate character, collaboration, and meaningful impact in every aspect of our work," he said.
Chairman of Thursina IIBS, Ustaz Dr. H. Muhammad Ali Wahyudi, further highlighted the essential pillars required to build a high-performing institution.
"Thursina's transformation is supported by four key pillars. First, Funding and Resource Mobilisation as the power supply that fuels the institution's programs. Second, Infrastructure and Technology as the hardware that supports operational excellence and innovation."
"Third, Curriculum and Educational System as the software that drives educational quality. Most importantly, People and Leadership serve as the brainware. No matter how advanced the systems or facilities are, their success ultimately depends on the quality of the people who lead and manage them."
As part of this strategic direction, all Thursina staff participated in professional development programs tailored to the needs of their respective roles. The initiatives included EdTech for Educators: Designing Engaging Learning Materials, which focused on technology-enhanced teaching innovation, and the School Action Research Bootcamp & Mini Conference, designed to strengthen educational research among teachers and murabbi.
Additional programs included Effective News Writing for PR Staff to enhance institutional communication, a Practical Arabic Conversation Workshop for murabbi, One-on-One English Communication Assessments for administrative and support staff, Reorientation of the Security Code of Ethics and Security Synergy to reinforce professionalism within the security team, and Performance Appraisal and Career Development Reports as part of the school's ongoing performance evaluation and career development framework.
Collectively, these initiatives reflect Thursina's commitment to its International Value: Future Skills & Leadership by strengthening professional competencies, digital literacy, global communication skills, research culture, and adaptive leadership. At the same time, the school's RECODING Values—particularly Excellence, Collaboration, Integrity, and Growth—were brought to life through cross-functional collaboration, reflective practice, continuous capacity building, and a shared commitment to continuous improvement.
Through its 2026/2027 Human Resource Development Program, Thursina IIBS reaffirms its commitment to building a learning organization founded on strong leadership, professional excellence, and continuous innovation—laying the foundation for delivering internationally recognized Islamic education.
