As part of its ongoing commitment to preparing future leaders with global perspectives, Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) has officially established a strategic partnership with one of Indonesia’s leading academic institutions, the Faculty of Science and Data Analytics (FSAD) at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS). The signing of the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) took place at the ITS Sukolilo Campus in Surabaya.
The partnership was formally signed by Prof. Dr. Dewi Hidayati, S.Si., M.Si., Dean of FSAD ITS, and Ustadz Rois Haqiqi, M.Pd., Principal of Thursina IIBS. The collaboration is designed to combine expertise in applied science and data analytics with character education rooted in Islamic values. It also provides Thursina students with opportunities to access high-quality academic resources and engage in meaningful research activities.
Principal of Thursina IIBS, Ustadz Rois Haqiqi, M.Pd., highlighted the importance of the partnership in developing an educational environment that goes beyond conventional classroom learning.
“Through this collaboration with FSAD ITS, we are not only equipping our students with strong analytical skills, but also preparing them holistically to take their place on the global stage as responsible global citizens with a mature cross-cultural mindset,” said Ustadz Rois in his remarks.
He further emphasized the school’s commitment to developing graduates who are internationally minded. In his view, strong knowledge of modern science needs to be accompanied by intercultural awareness so that students can grow into individuals who are able to contribute meaningful and practical solutions to global challenges.
Ustadz Rois also explained that the partnership will provide a strong foundation for strengthening the international exposure and cultural learning opportunities that have become an important part of the Thursina IIBS educational experience. He believes that students’ involvement in collaborative research projects with ITS academics will allow them to broaden their academic networks from an early stage and develop a scientific mindset that will support them in pursuing further studies at leading universities around the world.
The cooperation covers several areas related to the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, including quality education and teaching, collaborative research, and community service.
Through this partnership, Thursina IIBS continues to expand opportunities for students to learn from leading academic institutions while strengthening the connection between scientific knowledge, character development, and Islamic values. The collaboration is expected to support students in preparing for their future academic journeys and making meaningful contributions to society. (lil)
