New Leadership, Shared Vision: Thursina IIBS Embarks on a New Chapter of Excellence

Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) officially inaugurated its structural leadership team for the 2026/2027 Academic Year during a ceremony held at Harvard Hall on Monday, July 6, 2026. The inauguration marks an important milestone in the school's ongoing organizational transformation, reinforcing its Commitment to Excellence (CoE) while strengthening educational governance in line with international standards.

The event was attended by Chairman Ustaz Dr. H. Muhammad Ali Wahyudi, CEO Ustaz Nur Abidin, Ed.D., the Senior Advisors, members of the Board of Directors, and the school's management team. More than a formal appointment ceremony, the occasion reaffirmed the leadership team's shared commitment to fulfilling their responsibilities, strengthening collaboration, and driving innovation across the institution.

As part of this year's organizational transformation, Thursina IIBS announced several strategic leadership appointments. Ustaz M. Zainul Arifin, S.Pd. was appointed Principal of the Academic Female Campus, while Ustaz Rois Haqiqi, M.Pd., Gr. assumed the role of Principal of the Academic Male Campus. In addition, Ustaz A. Ali Syihabuddin, S.Si., M.Pd., Gr. was appointed Chief of Management Information Technology (MIT).

In his keynote address, CEO Ustaz Nur Abidin, Ed.D. emphasized that meaningful organizational transformation begins with the transformation of its leaders. According to him, the institution’s success depends not merely on its systems, but on the people who lead and develop them.

"There are three principles that every leader at Thursina should embrace. First, Not the Gun, but the Man Behind the Gun. Success is determined not by the facilities or positions we have, but by the quality of the people who make the most of them. Second, You Are the Changemaker. Every leader must become an agent of change who brings innovation and continuous improvement to their respective areas of responsibility," he said.

"Third, the Holistic Leadership Approach. Leadership should be practiced comprehensively—not only by pursuing results, but also by nurturing character, fostering collaboration, and creating meaningful impact throughout the Thursina community."

He further emphasized that Commitment to Excellence should define every leader at Thursina. Leadership, he noted, should extend beyond achieving performance targets to cultivating an adaptive, accountable, and continuously improving organizational culture.

Chairman Ustaz Dr. H. Muhammad Ali Wahyudi also highlighted the four foundational pillars that support Thursina's long-term institutional development.

"Thursina's transformation is built upon four key pillars. First, Funding and Resource Mobilisation serves as the power supply that drives the institution's programs. Second, Infrastructure and Technology functions as the hardware that supports operational excellence and innovation."

"Third, Curriculum and Educational System acts as the software that shapes educational quality. Most importantly, People and Leadership are the brainware. Regardless of how advanced our systems and facilities become, our success will always depend on the quality of the people who lead and manage them."

The inauguration ceremony concluded with the formal reading of the leadership appointments, followed by a collective pledge of commitment from the newly appointed leaders to carry out their responsibilities with integrity and professionalism. They are expected to serve as catalysts for change in strengthening educational quality, student character development, technological advancement, and effective organizational governance.

This organizational transformation also forms part of Thursina IIBS's broader strategy to strengthen collaboration across departments in support of its vision of becoming a leading International Islamic Boarding School recognized for excellence in academics, character development, leadership, and innovation. Through strong and visionary leadership, Thursina is confident it can deliver an even higher standard of education while preparing globally competitive Muslim leaders for the future.

Guided by the spirit of Committed to Excellence (CoE), the inauguration of the 2026/2027 leadership team marks the beginning of a new chapter—one that is expected to inspire innovation, strengthen professionalism, and foster greater collaboration as Thursina IIBS continues its journey toward becoming a world-class institution of Islamic education that makes a meaningful contribution to society and global civilization.
