Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) successfully held Maulid Fest 1448 H from August 25 to September 1, 2026, under the theme "Rasulullah SAW Is My Role Model." The series of activities was designed to bring the Prophet Muhammad's example beyond historical knowledge and into the daily lives of students.
The opening took place after the Maghrib prayer at Zahrotul Ummah Mosque on the Female Campus and Thursina Mosque on the Male Campus on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. The event was attended by the CEO of Thursina IIBS, Ustaz Nur Abidin, Ed.D., members of the board of directors, principals, asatidz, and students.
The recitation of salawat, Mahallul Qiyam, and verses from the Qur'an opened the event. The atmosphere then moved into a deeper reflection through talks on the Prophet Muhammad SAW as a central role model in shaping character, ways of thinking, and attitudes toward life.
At the Male Campus, the talk was delivered by Sharia Council member Ustaz Imam Awaluddin, Lc., M.A., Ph.D. Students were encouraged to study the Sirah Nabawiyah, or the life of the Prophet, through five stages: discover, understand, connect, apply, and reflect.
"The Sirah of the Prophet should not stop at knowing events from the past. Students need to understand their meaning, connect them with life today, and then bring the Prophet's example into their decisions and behavior ," said Ustaz Imam.
Meanwhile, at the Female Campus, Ustadzah Nunun Zainun, Lc., M.Ag., Ph.D., emphasized that love for the Prophet Muhammad SAW should grow through a deeper process: knowing him, admiring him, loving him, following his example, and then spreading the goodness reflected in his character.
"Loving the Prophet Muhammad SAW should leave a clear mark on our lives. When students learn to be patient, avoid responding to wrongdoing with wrongdoing, maintain good adab, and bring benefit to others, that is when their love takes a real form," said Ustadzah Nunun.
Maulid Fest was not limited to religious talks. Thursina also held a variety of competitions and activities, including Nabawi Theater, Hadith Narration Competition, Virtual Reality Movie Session, Sirah Nabawi Quiz Competition, Nasyid Salawat, and Taqdimul Qishah, providing creative ways for students to deepen their understanding of prophetic values.
The event reflected the religious value within Thursina IIBS's RECODING Values, which encourages religious awareness that goes beyond ritual and is expressed through the way students think, behave, and interact with others.
Through the study of Sirah Nabawiyah, reflection, and various creative activities, students were encouraged to make their love for the Prophet Muhammad SAW a foundation for developing adab, integrity, patience, and care in everyday life.
Through Maulid Fest 1448 H, Thursina IIBS positioned the commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad's birth as more than an annual ceremony. It became an effort to ensure that the Prophet Muhammad SAW remains a living role model who shapes students' integrity, compassion, maturity of thought, and character in their daily lives.
