Eight Thursina IIBS students competed at the 2026 East Java Inter-Student Governor’s Cup, gaining valuable experience and achievements in the taekwondo arena. Organised by the East Java Provincial Board of Taekwondo Indonesia (Pengprov TI Jawa Timur), the competition provided an opportunity for the students to test their courage, strategy, and mental strength at the provincial level.
Behind their achievements was a dedicated preparation process. The students completed nine additional training sessions beyond their regular schedule. Thursina Taekwondo Coach, Zhava Ananda Salsabila, provided more focused training, particularly on close-range attacking strategies and counter techniques for responding to opponents’ attacks.
“I do not only look at the achievements they earned, but also at their courage to compete at the East Java level. For me, having the confidence to enter the competition and face their opponents is a very meaningful development,” said Coach Zhava.
Previous competition experience also played an important role in their preparation. Thursina Taekwondo had previously participated in the Brawijaya Student Taekwondo Championship at the city level and the 2026 East Java Inter-Club Championship at the provincial level. Each competition provided opportunities to identify areas for improvement and further develop their performance.
For the students, the value of their training was put to the test in the competition arena. Every match challenged them to overcome fear and doubt while building confidence in their ability to continue improving through consistent practice.
This development reflects Thursina’s commitment to World Class and Personalised Enrichment. Students are given opportunities to develop their potential according to their individual interests through focused and continuous guidance. In this approach, achievement is not viewed as an isolated outcome, but as the result of a sustained development process.
The achievement also reflects Thursina’s RECODING Value of Inspiring, demonstrated through the students’ courage to continue moving forward as the challenges become greater. For them, a medal represents another step in their journey rather than a reason to stop improving.
“Do not become satisfied too quickly with what you have achieved today. Keep learning, training, and improving yourself to achieve even more in the future,” Coach Zhava advised.
Through taekwondo, the students learned that success is not only about standing on the highest level of the podium. It is also about having the courage to compete, the discipline to train, and the determination to return stronger after every match.
