A new chapter of student leadership has begun at Thursina International Islamic Boarding School (IIBS) following the official inauguration of the Thursina Student Association (TSA) for the 2026/2027 academic year on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
The inauguration ceremonies were held simultaneously at Harvard Field, Female Campus, and Twin Square, Male Campus, marking the beginning of a one-year leadership term for the newly appointed student council members.
At the Female Campus, the ceremony was led by Ustaz M. Zainul Arifin, S.Pd., Principal of Academic, who served as the Ceremony Inspector. The official appointment decree was read by Ustazah Alifiyanti Urfah Kalilah, S.Pd., VP of Student Affairs, while Ustazah Humairoh Fauziah Romli, M.Mat., TSA Female Advisor, presented the official inauguration report.
A similar ceremony took place at the Male Campus, led by Ustaz Rois Haqiqi, M.Pd., Gr., Principal of Academic, as the Ceremony Inspector. The appointment decree was read by Ustaz Bayu Cakra Buana, S.Pd., VP of Student Affairs, while Ustaz Hendika, TSA Male Advisor, presented the official inauguration report.
The inauguration marked the final stage of the student democratic process held throughout September. The candidates participated in the TSA Presidential Debate on September 12, followed by the TSA Presidential Election on September 15, 2026.
Through this process, students learned that leadership is not simply about holding a position. It involves sharing ideas, listening to different opinions, making decisions, and accepting the responsibility to work together after the election.
The VP of Student Affairs, Ustaz Bayu Cakra Buana, S.Pd., explained that TSA plays an important role in developing students' leadership experiences during their time at Thursina.
“The newly appointed TSA members will become the driving force behind various student programs while also providing opportunities for students to develop their interests and talents. Through these responsibilities, we hope they will strengthen their leadership, responsibility, teamwork, and creativity in organizational life,” said Ustaz Bayu.
In an educational environment, student organizations provide opportunities to turn ideas into real actions. Students learn how to make decisions, manage programs, solve problems, and understand that every decision can affect others.
This approach to leadership reflects the Care value within Thursina's RECODING values. Being a leader means caring about the needs of others, encouraging participation, and ensuring that the organization creates positive benefits for its community.
For Thursina IIBS, TSA is also an important part of education beyond the classroom. Through student organizations, students gain practical leadership experience while learning how to transform their ideas into meaningful and well-planned actions.
The TSA 2026/2027 leadership team is expected to carry out its responsibilities with integrity and a strong spirit of service. Every program they develop should be more than just an organizational activity. It should become an opportunity to create a supportive environment where all Thursina IIBS students can learn, grow, and develop their potential.
